Brown vetoes bill regarding artificial turf

Gov. Jerry Brown has vetoed a bill requiring homeowners associations to let members replace their lawns with artificial turf.

Water conservation groups supported the measure which would have prohibited homeowner associations from banning artificial turf.

Brown said the decision whether to allow turf or grass is best left up to each homeowner's group and shouldn't be mandated by state law.

As you may know homeowners associations often have rules regarding the look of neighborhoods, including yard restrictions.
