Shawn Chaddock, 49, was aboard the chartered fishing boat "The Erik" when it sank off Baja, California on July 3. The Mexican Navy and Coast Guard called off their search last week.
Chaddock's friends have raised $14,000 raised so far - that money will be used to hire a private deep water dive team.
