The crash, which involved the motorcycle, a van and another car, was reported just before 6 a.m. south of the San Tomas Expressway, CHP Officer Peter Van Eckhardt said.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two lanes were blocked after the crash, and a Sig-alert was issued. The lanes were cleared just after 9 a.m.
