People rappel off SF Skyscrapers for fundraiser

SAN FRANCISCO

These brave souls rappelled off the top of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Union Square. That's 36 floors, 429 feet high, It's all part of a fundraiser for the Special Olympics of Northern California. Each participant had to raise $1,000 for the chance to jump.

"For those rappelers that go off the side of the building, I encourage them to just take their time, truly enjoy the sights as they are coming down. Stop, look around, it's truly amazing," said David Nadelman, the Grand Hyatt San Francisco general manager.

There was $132,000 have been raised so far this year, beating last year's mark. The event will continue on Saturday and there are still slots open for anyone raising the $1,000 minimum.
