A Monterey museum is looking for volunteers with an interest in local history to train to be docents.

The city's Museum and Cultural Arts Division is looking for individuals who enjoy working with the public to greet visitors, provide information, answer questions and manage gift shops.

Volunteers are encouraged to commit to six hours every month at the Presidio of Monterey Museum, city officials said.

Training is Aug. 10th, 17th and 24th at 6:30 p.m. at the Emergency Operations Center, located behind Monterey Fire Station on Pacific Street.
