Police release new details on Thursday shooting

OAKLAND, Calif.

Police were called to the 1800 block of Adeline Street around 9:55 p.m. on a report of a shooting, according to police spokesman Ja'Son Scott.

The victim, a 29-year-old Oakland man, was found at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds, and was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators have learned that shortly before the shooting, two men approached the victim as he was walking down the street, Scott said. One of the two suspects, who was armed with a handgun, shot the victim before fleeing the scene.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown, and police have not released any suspect descriptions or other information about the case.
