An Oakland resident who suffered life-threatening injuries in a Thursday night shooting was approached by two men shortly before the attack, police said today.

Police were called to the 1800 block of Adeline Street around 9:55 p.m. on a report of a shooting, according to police spokesman Ja'Son Scott.

The victim, a 29-year-old Oakland man, was found at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds, and was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators have learned that shortly before the shooting, two men approached the victim as he was walking down the street, Scott said. One of the two suspects, who was armed with a handgun, shot the victim before fleeing the scene.
