San Jose PD investigate fatal stabbing near park

SAN JOSE, Calif.

Officers responded to South 19th and East Santa Clara streets after receiving a call for help around 2:15 a.m., San Jose police Sgt. Jason Dwyer said.

After arriving, police did not find anyone at the scene. When officers canvassed the area, they found a male victim suffering from stab wounds near Roosevelt Park, Dwyer said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No suspects have been identified in the stabbing and the motive is unclear, he said. The victim has not been identified by police.

The fatal stabbing is the 28th homicide in San Jose this year, Dwyer said.
