Teen suing SJ McDonald's owners after stabbing

SAN JOSE, Calif.

Seventeen-year-old Jonathan Paredes was attacked in the McDonald's parking lot, while walking home from a downtown music event on June 9.

An attorney for the family tells our media partner the Mercury News, the lawsuit claims McDonald's was partially liable because they failed to have security or adequate staffing at a time when the restaurant knew large crowds would gather in its parking lot.

A total of five teens were stabbed during the June 9 attack. The restaurant owner declined to comment on the suit.
