A Florida soldier wounded in the war in Afghanistan is back home and enjoying his favorite pastime, thanks to a generous businessman.

Thomas Counihan found his love for surfing three years ago, before he joined the Army.

But when Counihan was injured in an explosion during his first tour of duty in Afghanistan, the 21-year-old had his foot amputated.

After hearing the news, his girlfriend found a businessman who wanted to donate a custom built board just for Counihan.

Counihan hasn't tested his prosthetic out yet in the water but hopes to be riding the surf very soon.
