Two arrested for burglary after car crashes

SAN RAFAEL, Calif.

The resident of a home in the 100 block of Summit Road reported a burglary in progress around 10 a.m., San Anselmo police Capt. James Providenza said.

The male suspects fled in a Dodge Charger but an officer spotted the car heading east on Red Hill Avenue into San Rafael, Providenza said.

The Dodge was then involved in a collision with three other vehicles on Second Street and police detained the two suspects at gunpoint.

The burglary victim was not injured, and neither were the occupants of the vehicles involved in the crash, Providenza said.

Both Second and Third streets were closed for about an hour this morning because of the police activity, Providenza said.
