This morning, San Jose police received a 911 call of suspicious persons in a driveway. An officer confronted one of the individuals and a struggle ensued in which the suspect tried to take the officer's gun. The gun discharged several times during the struggle and the officer suffered powder burns to the hand. The officer suffered other injuries in the struggle and was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
The suspect ran away attempting to escape but was captured by other responding officers. The suspect was also transported by ambulance to another hospital.
