Mary Souza, who was at risk due to dementia, was reported missing at about 8 p.m. Thursday at a facility in the 2600 block of Shattuck Avenue.
A Berkeley police officer spotted Souza at about 9:35 a.m. today at Stanford and San Pablo avenues in Oakland and recognized her from flyers and photographs that had been sent throughout the department, police said.
Officers had been searching for her overnight, and even used tracking dogs from the Alameda County Sheriff's Office at one point.
Souza appeared to be unharmed, according to police.
