Calif. home delinquency payments better than average

Millions of people around the country are still in serious trouble with their mortgages, but there is a sliver of optimism in California. 7 On Your Side found some good news out of all this and that is Californians are bucking the national trend.

The credit reporting agency TransUnion says nationally the number of households late on their mortgages rose nearly 6 percent last quarter. These are homeowners who missed at least two payments.

But California is one of just ten states to actually see a decline in delinquencies.

Despite that, the state remains one of the hardest hit by the foreclosure crisis.
