The city council is expected to approve $10 million in tax funds to prepare the stadium site for construction.
The San Jose Mercury-News reports the cash-strapped city will have to borrow $6 million of the funds from the team itself.
The money will be spent over five months starting in January to move utilities and put in sidewalks for the construction.
