The incident happened last weekend in Vienna, Austria during a layover on a flight bound for England from India.
The Comtel Airlines jet sat on the tarmac for six hours when the passengers refused to pay the fuel bill. The situation became so volatile that police had to be called in.
Officers eventually escorted passengers to cash machines so they could get enough money to get the flight back in the air.
The airliner apologized on Thursday for the incident and said they plan to issue refunds to the passengers.
