Banana Sam returns to exhibit at SF Zoo

SAN FRANCISCO

The 17-year-old squirrel monkey made headlines when he was stolen from his cage at the San Francisco Zoo over New Year's weekend. The little guy returned to his exhibit Saturday and adoring fans lined up to get a look.

Banana Sam was safely returned about a week after someone broke into his habitat and took him. Up until now, he was being kept under quarantine as a precaution. The circumstances around his disappearance are still under investigation.

In the meantime, zookeepers will give special educational talks at 11:30 and 2:30 Sunday.

Bonus: Banana Sam fans who bring him a valentine's card will get a dollar off admission.
