SJ planning commission to decide on soccer stadium

SAN JOSE, Calif.

The earthquakes want to build the 18,000-seat venue next to Mineta San Jose International Airport. It will host 20 soccer games a year along with 10 to 15 other events like concerts.

Neighbors worry officials haven't done enough to address their concerns about the impact of light and noise coming from the stadium, although it has been redesigned to accommodate these issues.

The Earthquakes owner Lew Wolff also hopes to build a ballpark for the Oakland Athletics in downtown San Jose.
