Pope to tweet daily during Lent

The pope is doing something new this season of Lent via Twitter.

He'll tweet once a day under the handle Pope2YouVatican for the 40 days of Lent. Pope Benedict XVI will be tweeting in English and several other languages.

The Vatican is hoping the daily messages can possibly reach people who currently aren't religious.

On Thursday, the pope tweeted: "The Lenten season offers us once again an opportunity to reflect upon the very heart of Christian life: charity."
