Officials said high seas in Southern California have delayed the trip. They will be monitoring conditions before deciding when to leave.
The Jeremiah O'Brien will still take people who were planning to watch the departure Sunday to see the battleship. Crews have been restoring the Iowa at Pier Three in Richmond.
It was launched in 1942 and it served the U.S. Navy until 1990.
