Fifth-grader gets presidential pardon from school

MINNESOTA

Tyler Sullivan went to watch President Obama speak at the Honeywell factory where his father works. Not only did Tyler meet the commander-in-chief, he got a presidential pardon.

"He came up and he asked me if he wanted an excuse note since I was missing school Friday," Tyler said. "I was, like, I was so shocked. I didn't say anything."

The president's note, complete with presidential seal read, "Mr. Ackerman, please excuse Tyler. He was with me! Barack Obama, the president."

Tyler's teacher said the whole incident couldn't have happened to a better student, but Tyler's not interested in politics. He wants to be a professional football player when he grows up.
