The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors approved a plan to allow a Los Angeles healthcare company to take over operations at the Burlingame Long Term Care Center. The site is home to more than 160 disabled patients.
The County voted to close the facility in February because they said the building was unsafe and didn't meet current seismic standards. The new agreement will keep the site open and parts of the building will be retrofitted for earthquake safety.
