Group accuses Daly City Police Dept. of racial profiling

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.

Monday afternoon, the group marched at the county center in Redwood City to protest the detention of Shaleem Tindle. His family says the 22-year old was riding in his parents car as they headed home from prayer service. Gang enforcement officers made a traffic stop, and according to Tinder's mom, officers questioned everyone inside. Tindle was detained for not telling police he was on parole.

"Anytime you can stop a whole car and question the whole car after showing identification, proof of insurance, registration, what else is there to show?" said Tindle's mother, Yolanda Banks.

The San Mateo District Attorney's Office tells ABC7 News that Tindle was arrested for resisting arrest and battery on a police officer.

The Daly City Police Department would only say it is conducting an administrative review of the incident.
