The testing will happen over some 69-square miles of San Francisco, Oakland and Pacifica. A helicopter will fly a grid pattern just 300 feet above the ground.
The survey is expected to take five days, and the data will be used to improve the way federal, state and local governments measure "air radiation" levels.
