State lawmaker introduces guide dog guidelines

SACRAMENTO, Calif.

At the state capitol Monday Assm. Michael Allen, D-Santa Rosa said the rules should help reduce the awkwardness that sometimes includes other patrons, and especially restaurant staff, when a party includes a guide dog.

"There are ways for everyone involved to find opportunities for increased understanding, better understanding of the etiquette guide dog teams are following," said Allen.

Assemblyman Allen worked with the California Restaurant Association to develop his proposed guidelines.
