Airlines collected $1.7B in baggage fees

The Department of Transportation reported that airlines in the first half of this year collected a record $1.7 billion in baggage fees. Those fees start at $25, but really add up. Genevieve Shaw Brown is a travel and lifestyle editor with ABC News.

"Fees are not going to go away. If anything, they're going to get higher," said Shaw Brown.

Topping that list is Delta Airlines collecting nearly $430 million. Number two is United Airlines at $351 million.
