A San Jose-based grocery chain is facing a boycott over its employment policies.

A coalition of community groups held a news conference Monday to discuss a boycott against Mi Pueblo markets. The groups say they're angry Mi Pueblo is using a program created by the Department of Homeland Security to verify whether its new hires are in the country legally.

Store officials say they joined the E-Verify program after DHS suggested it during an immigration audit. DHS says the program is voluntary.
