Police release sketch of man involved in trail attack

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.

The attempted robbery occurred around 7:55 p.m. on Oct. 16 when the suspect approached the victim who was walking with his backpack in hand on the trail near Evelyn Avenue and state Highway 85, police said.

The suspect came from behind and grabbed the backpack. The two struggled over the pack and the pair fell to the ground, police said.

The victim was able to grab his backpack and run home where he called police.

The victim suffered minor bruising in the struggle, police said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his mid-20s, standing more than 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium to heavy build.

He was last seen wearing dark clothing and a dark-colored baseball cap.
