Oakland police lieutenant struck in hit-and-run

OAKLAND, Calif.

It happened just before midnight on Sixth and Washington Street. Sources tell ABC7 News that the lieutenant was in the crosswalk when he was hit. They say he had not finished crossing the street when the light turned green and the woman started through intersection, knocking him on to the hood of her car. He fell to the ground and suffered only bumps and bruises. The woman took off; surveillance cameras on the street could help them track down the driver.
