San Francisco police ID robber who killed dog

SAN FRANCISCO

Police are searching for Laurice Barrett, who they say stole money from a woman in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood on December 28.

When the woman's dog started barking from inside her car, police say Barrett snatched the dog and threw it into oncoming traffic. Her dog, Roxie, died at the vet.

A tip led police to the suspect's identity.

Barrett will face felony charges for robbery and animal cruelty.

An account has been set up for people who want to contribute to a reward being offered for information leading to the suspect's arrest: Roxie the dog reward, c/o Gateway Bank, 919 Clement St., SF CA 94118.
