60 percent of adults take breaks from Facebook

A new Pew Research Center study found more than 60 percent of adult Facebook users have taken a vacation from the social media site, with nearly 30 percent saying they plan to spend less time on it in 2013.

Some of the reasons given: 21 percent say they're "too busy," 10 percent cite "lack of interest" and 9 percent say they were turned off by "excessive gossip or drama."

Still, the study found nearly two-thirds of adults online are Facebook users.
