Brave picked up a big win for best animated feature film at Sunday night's awards ceremony in Hollywood.
Andrews said being recognized by his industry peers was a humbling experience.
"Some of the people in the audience inspired me to become a filmmaker so to share the stage, share the theater and walk amongst these giants was amazing," he said.
The celebration included bagpipers and a Scottish toast.
It's the seventh win for the Emeryville company since the category was established in 2002.
Pixar is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC7.
