Pittsburg police seek truck involved in hit-and-run

PITTSBURG, Calif.

Lt. Ron Raman said investigators believe a 1997 to 2003-model Ford F-150 pickup truck hit and critically injured the local resident as he was crossing Leland Road near Bailey Road around 6:30 p.m. last Thursday.

Emergency responders found the victim lying on the street after the crash, but the vehicle involved had already fled the scene. The victim remained hospitalized as of Tuesday afternoon, Raman said.

The truck involved is likely to have front and driver's-side damage due to the collision, the lieutenant said.

"There is a chance that someone saw the vehicle prior to, during or after the collision and if they did, we're asking them to come forward," he said.

Police are urging anyone with information about the crash or who may have spotted a truck matching the suspect vehicle description to call police at (925) 646-2441. Anonymous tips can be left at (925) 427-7369 or emailed to crimetipsci.pittsburg.ca.us.
