More couples having kids before marriage

More couples are choosing to delay marriage until later in life, but that doesn't mean they're waiting to have children.

A new study out Friday finds 48 percent of first births are happening outside of marriage.

Researchers at the University of Virginia found many middle-class young people in their 20s are choosing to have kids before tying the knot.

The study found couples in their mid-20s who might otherwise get married are now being discouraged by parents, friends or popular culture.
