Report: Google Glass to be made in the U.S.

It looks like Google's highly anticipated Project Glass will bring new manufacturing jobs to the Silicon Valley.

The Financial Times reports the futuristic digital eyewear will be assembled in Santa Clara at a factory run by Taiwan-based Foxconn. That's the same contractor that assembles iPhones and iPads.

This would be a major boost for U.S. electronics manufacturing since most tech companies have moved their production to Asia.

Google glasses use voice-activated software and a small touch pad to operate a digital camera, send emails and display information from the internet on a tiny screen that sits above the user's right eye.
