Firefighters battle 1-alarm house fire in Saratoga

SARATOGA, Calif.

At about 7:40 p.m., firefighters received a report of a fire at 18565 Aspesi Drive, according to Santa Clara County fire Battalion Chief Carol Miller.

Upon arrival, firefighters witnessed heavy flames coming from the single-story home. At least 40 percent of the home was engulfed in flames, according to Miller.

The family occupying the home had safely evacuated the house prior to the arrival of firefighters, Miller said.

Live electrical wires hindered firefighting efforts, but firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within an hour of arriving on scene.

No injuries to residents or firefighters were reported, Miller said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
