Havea was one of five people in an SUV that drove into the median and struck the center divide on southbound on Highway 13 at about 3:45 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol Officer Sam Morgan.
The vehicle, which was driven by an 18-year-old woman, then swerved across one lane and flipped, overturning several times, according to the CHP.
Havea, who had not been wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and three passengers suffered moderate to major injuries and were taken to local hospitals, according to the CHP.
Speed was likely a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation by the CHP.
