I met Sidhart Krishnamurthi at the Harker School last year and he told me he had read the The Kite Runner book by Khaled Hosseini, who also lives in San Jose. It's a story set in Afghanistan.
Krishnamurthi was so moved by the plight of the homeless refugees, he wanted to help them. So he collected $2,000, over several months.
That is enough to build a complete home for a homeless family in Afghanistan.
