Belmont tenant pepper sprays property manager

BELMONT, Calif.

Police responded to the apartment complex in the 2300 block of Carlmont Drive at 6:10 p.m. and found that the building's property manager had been hit with bear spray.

The landlord was treated for exposure to the spray and minor injuries. He was not taken to a hospital, according to police.

Police said that the exposure came when Steven Plummer, 55, got into an argument with the manager over the noise from maintenance work in another apartment.

The two men were arguing when Plummer allegedly hit the manager in the face and sprayed him with the bear spray.

Plummer was booked into San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of assault and battery, misuse of tear gas and being a felon in possession of tear gas, according to police.
