Dozens of cats rescued from Seaside home up for adoption

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif.

Last July the Monterey County SPCA rescued 51 cats and discovered 113 deceased kittens in two properties occupied by a woman and her adult daughter.

The daughter, Donna Johnson, was sentenced to 20 days in county jail and three years probation. She's also been mandated to attend court-ordered counseling. The restitution hearing is pending.

The 45 remaining cats are now available for adoption. YouTube video posted by the SPCA show the cats in happier conditions.
