Among the proposed changes, a ban to keep food trucks from setting up within 75-feet of a restaurant; they would only be allowed to set up three days a week in one location.
But the trucks would be able to park closer to elementary and high schools. And they'd be allowed on college campuses and next to hospitals.
The city will have new ways to crackdown on food trucks operating without a permit.
"Making a change that will allow parking control officers to enforce against food trucks that don't have permits," SF Supervisor Scott Wiener said. "And, as we all know, our parking control officers are quite effective at enforcing the law."
The ordinance will restrict food trucks operated by chain restaurants.
The San Francisco Board of Supervisors' Land Use Committee votes on the regulations next Monday
