The measure, by Supervisor Scott Weiner, says food trucks must be at least 75 feet from existing restaurants. The new guidelines also allow trucks to park closer to schools and to operate on college campuses.
Weiner says the legislation is the result of two years of negotiations between the food truck industry, brick-and-mortar restaurants, and others.
