Study: Bay Area residents average longer lifetimes

WASHINGTON

ABC7 News media partner The San Jose Mercury News reports Bay Area residents live, on average, a decade longer than people in less healthy parts of the U.S.

For women in Marin, San Mateo, and Santa Clara Counties, that works out to a little more than 84 years.

University of Washington researchers also found the Bay Area tops the charts when it comes to physical fitness and maintaining a healthy weight.
