Report: Chipotle faked its own Twitter hack

CNET is reporting the fast-food restaurant has confessed to hacking its own social media account as part of a promotional campaign.

Confusing tweets were posted Sunday on Chipotle's Twitter feed; they were random thoughts that didn't make sense. According to the restaurant, it was a publicity stunt to "spark conversation."

It worked as Chipotle gained more than 4,000 new Twitter followers after the bogus hack.
