50th annual 'Project Homeless Connect' in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO

City officials are holding the 50th annual Project Homeless Connect at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

The event puts dozens of different social and health services all in one place for people in need. That includes free food, dental care, mental health care, and information on housing.

"And hopefully with that opportunity, something might occur where someone says I want to do something for myself. I want to get out of danger, get out of maybe, daily existence of survival and into a hopeful life," Mayor Ed Lee said Wednesday morning.

Wednesday's event was scheduled to run through 3 p.m.
