Malala Yousafzai helps open new library in England

ENGLAND

Taliban militants shot 16-year-old Malala Yousafzai in the head last year. She was targeted for campaigning for education for girls in her native country Pakistan.

She now lives in Birmingham, England and sees the new library there as a place that could help change the world.

"I truly believe the only way they can create global peace, and towards peace and prosperity, is only reading, knowledge, and education," she said.

The library will house 1 million books along with the archives that document the history of Birmingham.
