Yuhara faces charges of involuntary manslaughter in the shooting of Daniel Winslow, 47.
Police say Yuhara fired a warning shot at people he thought were car thieves outside his home in Los Gatos and then the men drove away.
Winslow's body was found about 20 miles away in a jeep abandoned near Spartan Stadium in San Jose.
Police believe Winslow and a second person were the car theives.
