Oakland council to consider teen curfew ordinance

A tough new stance on curfews for teenagers in Oakland will go before the city council in a few weeks. It would ban teens or children from being in public areas or inside an Oakland business alone between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Business owners and parents would also be held accountable. Supporters hope keeping kids off the street will prevent them from becoming crime victims, and reduce crime overall.
