VTA bus crash snarls traffic on I-680

A crash involving a Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority bus and a truck has left multiple people injured and is blocking two lanes on southbound Interstate Highway 680 in San Jose, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision was reported around 5:15 p.m. on southbound Highway 680 at the state Highway 237 connector, according to the CHP.

A black pickup truck and VTA bus collided, blocking two left lanes and sending at least four people from the bus to hospitals to be treated for injuries, according to the CHP.

CHP Officer Peter Van Eckhardt said information about the extent of the injuries was not immediately available.

All lanes of the roadway were temporarily blocked as of 6:50 p.m. as crews worked to remove the bus from the roadway, according to the CHP.
