The shooting was reported at 7:32 p.m. in the 1600 block of West San Carlos Street.
Police found a man there suffering from a gunshot wound and he was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead shortly before 9 p.m.
No suspects have been identified, and police have not determined the motive for the shooting.
