Fremont police release images of burglary suspect

FREMONT, Calif.

The suspect was seen on a surveillance camera in a homeowner's bedroom after he entered the house Tuesday morning, police said.

The homeowner called police at 4:50 p.m. that day to report the burglary in the 200 block of Addison court.

The victim had just returned home but had been alerted at 11:35 a.m. when motion sensors in the home alerted him to the break in and video surveillance gave him a clear look at the suspect.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic or Middle Eastern man with a thin to medium build, short cropped brown hair, brown eyes a thin mustache and a partial goatee. He was wearing black pants, a dark-colored T-shirt and a navy blue hoodie.

He was talking on an either red-colored smartphone or a phone with a red case during the burglary.

The suspect apparently entered the house by going into the backyard through an unlocked gate and breaking the glass in a rear patio sliding door, police said.

Anyone with information about the burglary has been asked to call Fremont police at (510) 790-6900.
